How will people find your website?
It's all well and good having a beautiful website but if you don't tell people about it, nobody will visit it!
Everyone dreams of having their site appear on the first page of Google with thousands of people flocking to their site overnight and the profits following thereafter.
Unfortunately, it takes a while for Google and other search engines to register your existence. Moving up the rankings for your keywords then takes time, patience and work.
There are a number of ways to get people to your new site:
If you already have an established business which advertises to attract customers, you can add your web address to those adverts. This is known as offline marketing. Even for new, purely web driven businesses, this can be a good way to get people to your site.
Search engines such as Google and Yahoo have developed systems called pay-per-click advertising. These are the sponsored listings you see across the top and down the right hand side of search results. You only pay when someone clicks on the advert to get to your site and you bid how much you are prepared to pay for each click. However, at 20p per click (or whatever you bid) the costs can mount up.
The third way is known as search engine optimisation. This aims to improve the ranking of your website in the natural (free on the left hand side) listings for your keywords. There are many companies out there who guarantee to get you on page 1 of google but often it is for keywords that nobody uses. How your site performs is down to many factors such as how well it is constructed and how well it is linked to other well performing sites.
We have experience in all of these arenas and can advise you the best approach for your given business.
